Meet our GRP Production Supervisor Shaun Lunney

Meet GRP Production Supervisor Shaun Lunney and find out more about his role combining Production Supervisor and Procurement Co-ordinator responsibilities.

We like to introduce you to the AllScope team, so that you can get to know the people responsible for the logistics and manufacturing of your GRP needs.

With over 27 years’ experience at AllScope Projects, Shaun knows the production and procurement processes inside out. Over that time, Shaun has implemented key processes, research plans, trained team members and engaged with hundreds of clients and suppliers.

Of course, nothing in manufacturing can stand still. Shaun has worked on developing our processes and procurement alongside multiple factors including needs of suppliers and clients, materials development and availability, compliance, fluctuating worldwide pricing and political incidents. The need to continuously improve manufacturing processes and product development, means Shaun has to maintain a high understanding of trends, demands and potential developments.

GRP Production Supervisor

In Shaun’s capacity of GRP Production Supervisor, he manages the planning of production, materials stock and works with HR to manage the production team scheduling.

From start to finish, Shaun will be involved supporting with any production, design, material and quality considerations. From dimensions to tolerances, spot checks to final QC, configurations of accessories or signage to be applied post production, Shaun will co-ordinate discussions and planning with designers, clients and suppliers throughout the production process. It is critical to ensure that any challenges are spotted early, maintaining efficiency, preventing waste time and reducing costs for all parties.

The Procurement Connection: Timely Sourcing of Suitable Materials

On the other side of the role is procurement co-ordination. This is integral to design, pricing, the manufacturing process and future maintenance.

Shaun will research and source product to ensure performance, timing, pricing and compliance protocols are all met. As a direct link with production, this includes managing materials delivery with production scheduling.
Over the years, Shaun has seen worldwide incidents greatly impact the cost and availability of sourcing materials including:

  • 2007 – 2009 Worldwide recession.
  • 2020 – Covid-19 Pandemic.
  • 2022 – Current (as of September 2025) Russian invasion of Ukraine.
  • 2025 – Trump Tariffs on American imports.
Bio Resin GRP

Driving Environmental Change with Bio-Resin GRP Project

At AllScope Projects we identified and understood both our ability and responsibility to drive environmental change and innovation within the GRP manufacture industry.

2022:
In 2022, we identified an opportunity to drive positive environmental change, with the introduction of bio-resin GRP into our offering.

2023:
Our bio-resin GRP project was introduced and commenced in 2023. Shaun worked with senior management in the research and resourcing of suitable bio-resin, compliance and configurations.

2024:
AllScope Projects then successfully introduced bio-resin GRP into production in 2024 and is now common place amongst many of our clients products.

You can find out more about bio-resin GRP here. Bio-resin GRP reduces the dependency on fossil fuels, by harnessing renewable resources, contributing to a more sustainable and circular economy.
Introducing bio-resin GRP meant AllScope Projects also enabled its clients and future clients their own ability to support positive environmental impacts and carbon footprint efficiencies of their own. By making bio-resin GRP accessible to a wide range of industries, we are supporting the UK’s drive towards net zero while offering clients a greener, high-performance alternative.

Dual Role is Essential in GRP Manufacturing

Combining Shaun’s role as GRP production supervisor with procurement management creates a unique position that drives our efficiency, quality, and innovation. Working alongside our Senior Management Team, Shaun ensures:

  • Design and manufacturing alignments are considered and applied.
  • Material sourcing aligns with compliance, cost, environmental and sustainability goals.
  • Production schedules run smoothly in line supply and client’s needs.
  • Our clients receive informed, tailored advice at every stage of the project.
  • Industry-leading innovations, such as bio-resin GRP, are considered and implemented successfully.

A Future-Focused Role in a Changing Industry

As the GRP manufacturing sector continues to evolve, the importance of sustainability, compliance, and efficiency will continue to grow. Shaun’s GRP Production Supervisor and procurement co-ordinator roles, alongside his colleagues are key to meeting our clients needs and AllScope Projects.

As a Made In Britain GRP manufacturer we are proud to support UK Manufacturing and development of local people through our recruitment, training and on-going personal development of our team using local organisations such as North Lancs Training Group.
