GRP Sub Assembly
At AllScope Projects, our GRP Sub Assembly services enable precision moulded components to be developed into installation ready systems.
Sub-assembled parts such as integrating bracketry, mechanical fixings, lighting mounts and signage, are approved in line with technical CAD drawings that have typically been developed by the customer and adapted using our insight and recommendations.
As a UK based composite manufacturer, we provide a wide range of structured GRP Sub-Assembly solutions.
Click the titles below of our 3 very different sectors and parts and see how sub assembly works across a range of projects:
Typical Sub Assembly Process
Our GRP Sub Assembly process follows a structured approach, ensuring each project progresses from initial consultation through to installation ready delivery in a controlled and coordinated manner.
From the outset, we work closely with the client to review technical CAD drawings, confirm requirements and agree component sourcing. As the project moves into manufacture and sub-assembly, our internal teams collaborate across production, fabrication and quality functions to ensure each element is integrated accurately and in line with specification. Tolerance checks, load considerations and inspection procedures are carried out throughout, maintaining consistency and alignment with the agreed design. This coordinated approach, combining client input with internal engagement, allows us to deliver GRP components that are fully prepared for their intended application
Sub Assembly benefits of composite parts
By including sub-assembly services into our GRP manufacturing, your projects benefit from:
- Faster project delivery with reduced waste and costs By combining GRP manufacture and sub-assembly in-house, we reduce project stages, reducing wasted time in delivery to multiple providers or component stock delay.
- Precision and testing combined Every assembly is built and tested to agreed technical drawings with tightly controlled tolerances, ensuring seamless integration into your product or structure. Any issues can be validated and resolved at source.
- Reduced risk, more control and communication. With one accountable manufacturing partner managing both composite production and sub-assembly, it means we have a deeper product knowledge and objectives, so your gain from a quality consistency.
Examples of GRP Sub Assembly
Coachbuilding:
GRP manufacture and sub-assembly of the drivers main dashboard, control panels and attachment to vehicle.
Assisted Living
GRP Manufacture and sub-assembly of bracketry for door panels and lifting / hoist mechanisms.
Digital Comms
GRP manufacture and sub-assembly of the signage and lid to main compartment.
Examples of Sub Assembly
Coachbuilding: GRP manufacture and sub-assembly of dash panels and ventilation
Within coach and bus manufacture, dimensional accuracy and vibration resistance are critical.
We manufacture the GRP dashboard panels from the mould tool and centre consoles, supported by integrated GRP sub-assembly processes.
Our scope includes:
- GRP mould of main dash panel console
- Sub assembly of instrument mounting bracketry
- Sub assembly of bonded and matted fixings
- Sub assembly centre console structural support brackets to floor fixings
- Sub assembly HVAC vents and ventilation grilles
- Sub assembly of approved mechanical fixings and screws
Ventilation components are sourced and supplied in accordance with the client specification and are fitted directly to the GRP dash assembly using approved brackets and fixings.
Ventilation units are also spray painted to agreed specifications to precisely match the main dash unit colour configuration.
All apertures and mounting points are prepared to small tolerances and align precisely to the agreed CAD drawings.
Assisted Bathing Systems: Load Bearing GRP Sub Assembly
In mobility and assisted bathing systems, safety and structural integrity are paramount.
We work with our client in the manufacture and sub-assembly of baths and shower systems that are designed to support ease of access and exit.
We provide a complete prototype to manufacture to sub-assembly on a range of products that include panel door openings, or load bearing hoist and lifting systems that require secure folding arm connection brackets and fastenings.
Our scope includes:
- Prototype manufacture to refine to final design and specification
- GRP manufacture of main unit, trays, panels and openings
- Sub assembly of door and mounting system bracketry
- Sub assembly of hinged panels
- Gel coat finishings for aesthetic and practical cleanse and maintenance
Digital Communication and Information booths in public places
Outdoor public realm structures and furniture are designed and built for aesthetic appeal, endurance and longevity against outdoor elements of weather and vandalism, fire retardant composites and digital connectivity.
Our client has developed a digital communications booth (a modern take on traditional phone boxes). They require a GRP manufactured lid that will attach onto the main structure, that includes illuminated signage and bracketry.
Our scope includes:
- Consultation on design and sub-assembly part sourcing
- GRP manufacture of unit lid
- Sub assembly of illuminated signage and folded aluminium brackets with tight tolerances
- Sub assembly of bracketry to affix to main unit
- Spray paint finish of full lid with sub-assembly integrated parts.
